We are currently looking to hire a full time, Specialist Support Assistant (SSA) for a SEN school near Cramlington, North Tyneside. This school focuses on creating an environment for students that is meaningful, inspiring and enjoyable that promotes achievement for all. Most pupils will have an Individual Education Plan utilising records of achievement and progress.
We are looking for an SSA with the ability to support pupils behaviourally, academically, and with aspects of personal and medical care. You would also be required to support the teacher and other support staff by doing 1:1 support. The school does have a small aqua therapy pool, so the successful candidate may be required to occasionally help during swimming/therapy sessions (in the pool or on the outside, depending upon where you are needed).
Experience with PMLD, ASD, MLD and SLD is desirable.
